Selby Abbey

The Abbey was granted its founding charter by William the Conqueror and has connections with France, Germany and the USA. It is reputed to be the birthplace in September 1068 of King Henry I of England, the son of King William I and Queen Mathilda.

Beverly Minster
It was founded early in the 8th century, although damage caused during the Viking invasions and the Norman Conquest means that the present building only dates back to 1220. Today, itís one of the finest examples of a Gothic church of cathedral size in Europe.
Rievaulx Abbey

Hemingbrough Minster
